The Maine Department of Corrections is destigmatizing corrections for the betterment of all Maine communities. Through the ‘Maine Model of Corrections’, we promote the safety of our staff and residents while reducing barriers to meaningful rehabilitative opportunities. We facilitate restorative justice practices that equip justice-involved residents and clients with the skills they need to become contributing members of society upon release, including treatment, education, and job training. Maine State Prison
Located off US Route 1 in Warren, Maine, Maine State Prison is the state’s Maximum-Security facility for adult residents. Our programs include providing work opportunities for residents and a comprehensive treatment plan that encourages the resident to re-enter society as a law-abiding, productive citizen. Long Creek Youth Development Center
Located at 675 Westbrook St., South Portland, Maine, Long Creek Youth Development Center is the only secure juvenile justice center in Maine. We offer 17 programs for juvenile residents in our care that support their behavioral rehabilitation, educational attainment, and workforce development skills.
Juvenile Program Workers (JPW) at Long Creek is a foundation to a rewarding career within the DOC, or collateral agencies, for those interested in public safety, social work, behavioral health, case management, probation, law enforcement, acuity care, adolescent development, advocacy, and psychology.

Mountain View Correctional Facility
Located in Charleston, Maine, Mountain View Correctional Facility is a Minimum/Medium Security facility for adult residents located in view of the majestic Mount Katahdin.
