Maine Health Career Pipeline Program

MaineHealth works with diverse youth and young adults across Maine to stimulate interest in health careers and to encourage them to pursue those careers in Maine. Through this program, we offer educational experiences to students ranging from grade school through college. Opportunities include:

  • Job ShadowingJob shadowing experiences are available for eligible candidates (please note, medical students are not eligible).
  • Medical Explorers ProgramThis nationwide program offers a variety of activities designed to encourage interest in health care in high school students.
  • On-Site Presentations: We can come to your school or other location to talk about the value of a health career and will adapt our presentation to fit your audience.
  • Connections: We can help connect interested students with health care career resources and mentors.
  • Internships: Learn more about various internship opportunities across the MaineHealth system.

Nursing Career Video

Wonder what a career path of a nurse might look like? Watch and learn about Meghan’s career from a professional writer, to a CNA to a Nurse Manager.  You will also learn about different nursing roles and responsibilities.

Maine Track Physician Program

Learn about Maine Health’s partnership with Tufts University and it’s mission to encourage the practice of rural medicine in Maine. Graduates of the program will receive a combined diploma from TUSM and MMC with the hope that many will establish medical practice in Maine.
