This class will provide entry level training into the pipe welding industry. Students will have 160 hours of class and lab time and will be expected to do reading outside of class. They will follow the NCCER Pipe Welding curriculum using the Core Curriculum, Welding Level I and Welding Level II trainee guides. Training will include basic safety, introduction to hand tools and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging techniques as well as welding symbols, reading welding detail drawings, understanding physical characteristics and properties of metals, GTAW & FCAW equipment and filler metals and more. The course is designed to prepare students for entry level work in the pipe welding field. Classes will run on Fridays and Saturdays starting March 22, 2019. Students will need to wear steel toed boots.
